What to Expect When Booking
Before the Session
You’ll complete a short questionnaire so I can understand your dog’s personality, comfort levels, and any sensitivities. We’ll also discuss styling, backdrop colors, and the overall mood you want.
During the Session
I work slowly and gently, using:
• Soft verbal cues
• Sounds, toys and PLENTY of treats
• Plenty of breaks
• A dog-led approach
Expect a mix of:
✔ Classic portraits
✔ Close-up soulful expressions
✔ Full-body poses
✔ Soft, clean, timeless imagery
After the Session
Within 2 weeks, we’ll view your curated portraits and design your artwork.
There is no online gallery — this keeps things simple, focused, and stress-free.
What to Expect in the Studio
Our home studio is set up to create the best possible portraits of your dog. It’s calm, warm, and distraction-free, the perfect environment for dogs who do best without the chaos of outdoor activity. It is offered in our home, so there will be smells of our furry friends (a dog and a cat), but they will not be a distraction during your visit. As it also takes place in our home, we are repurposing a room for shoot days, so there will be signs of our personal life around.
Studio Features
• Professional lighting
• Multiple backdrop options (grey, pink, blue, purple and green)
• Props and stylish accessories, though we welcome any you would like to bring along
• Temperature-controlled environment
• No other pets present during your session
Whether your dog is energetic or timid, the studio is built to help them feel safe and comfortable
Our Policies
Scheduling
Sessions are booked in advance and last between 30-90 minutes depending on the session. Some may go much faster, while others might be slower. We will go at the pace of your dog. Our goal is to get the shots we need in the shortest time possible, we understand they’ll get tired and won’t want to be here longer than necessary. As this is a small part time business, availability may be limited. We’ll work to get you in as soon as possible. Subscribe to our newsletter if you’d lie to be notified of newly released slots.
Rescheduling
Illness (human or dog!) is always a valid reason to reschedule. Especially during cold and flu season, if you are unwell we ask you stay home and reschedule. 48 hour notice is requested for rescheduling, however we do understand illnesses due not abide by the same principle. We will work with you.
Should we get ill, we will inform you as early as possible to reschedule. In the event of rescheduling due to illness in our family (to avoid spreading our germs to you), a cancellation request can be made and the 25% cancellation fee will be waived.
Payments
Session fee due at booking; cancellations will incur a 25% cancelation fee. Artwork and prints will purchased after the reveal of the photos from your session. Pricing can be found in the Services section. We aim to be open and transparent. At this time payment is accepted through cash, etransfer, or credit cards.
Safety
No aggressive handling, no forced posing, and the dog’s comfort is the priority always. If your dog becomes aggressive we may have to cancel the session as it may not be a fit. In the event this were to occur, we would provide you with a full refund.
